Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple
Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswami Temple Tirumala, is situated in Sannidhi street. Sri Bedi Anjaneya swamy Temple is located exactly opposite to Sri Venkateswara Temple, Temple is facing the Maha dwaram of Sri Venkateswara shrine. It may also be noted that every time after neivedyam is offered to Lord Sri Venkateswara and Sri Aadhi Varahaswamy (Located at the banks of Swamy Pushkarini), the neivedyam is brought to this temple.
Story Behind Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple
It is said that the young Hanuman wanted to leave the Tirumala hills in search of a camel and to stop him from doing so, his mother , Anjana Devi tied both his hands with a “bedi”(cuffs) and ordered him to stay right at the place till she returned.Lord Hanuman conceded to this day he is seen standing in front of Mahadwaaram. Anjana Devi stayed back near Akasa Ganga and never returned to this place.
As per the vaishnavite customs, either Anjaneya or Garuda is situated opposite to the main temple. Sri Anjaneya is devotee of Sri Rama while Garuda is for Sri Maha Vishnu. Accordingly, in Tirumala, Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswamy is seen opposite to the temple.
It is believed that Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple was constructed during the reign of Mahant and was built according to the Vaishnavite traditions.
There is a special abhishekam and pooja performed at Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple on every Sunday. Hanuman Jayanthi is also celebrated at Sri Bedi Anjaneya swamy Temple.
